Leland and Allison Prival are from Los Angeles, California where they nurtured and trained hundreds of aspiring dancers in the art of classical ballet, developing youngsters into artists. Some went on to have illustrious careers in New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey, Boston Ballet, and The Ballet of Israel.
Musical Theatre was a popular summer intensive which brought eager young singer/dancers to participate in our Summer Musical Theatre Workshops culminating into full musicals staged in professional theatres as the finale of each summer workshop.
Leland Prival carried on the legacy of his father Bert Prival who established The Bert Prival School of Ballet in Los Angeles, California in 1939 following his career as the Premier Danseur of The Metropolitan Opera Ballet in New York City. With Bert’s move to Los Angeles from New York he then was invited to the screen where he performed starring dance roles in many films.
Leland was trained by his father, and eventually in 1985 took over The Bert Prival School of Ballet as Artistic Director of the school following his father’s retirement. Leland danced leads in his father’s company at The Starlight Bowl, Hollywood Bowl, Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, NBC, ABC, and Universal where he choreographed for television specials as well as performed with the Valentino Oumanski Ensemble.
